DAMAC owner Hussain Sajwani has been building some of the most fashionable buildings throughout Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the UAE, and he’s even built partnerships with some of the most well-known celebrities and leaders including golf professional Tiger Woods and US President Donald Trump and his family. In fact Hussain Sajwani family was delighted with Trump’s election to the presidency and told the media figures of NBC they hope to be able to do even more deals with the Trump family now. Sajwani has sparked enthusiasm for real estate development, investing and philanthropy throughout his entire career.
Hussain Sajwani had big plans from the get go and has lived by the philosophy of hard work without taking shortcuts because he believes absolutely nothing can stop true determination. Sajwani was born in the UAE but came to the US and studied Industrial Engineering & Economics at the University of Washington. The first big company he started managing contracts for was GASCO, a subsidiary company of one of the world’s biggest oil exporters. He started going into luxury property and vacation package projects when he started Dariah Management Services, a catering business serving affluent clients at various UAE hotels.
He officially started DAMAC Properties in the early 1990s and started undertaking hotel construction as part of his first endeavors. His key investments soon began in Al Jazeira Services, a large securities investment and trading group listed on Arab stock exchanges, and he also purchased Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles. He soon started building partnerships with interior designing companies including Versace who was behind the design of DAMAC Tower’s rooms during the construction period. Sajwani and the Trump family’s relation in real estate includes a hotel that the Trumps own at DAMAC Hills, a large area full of hotels and apartments lining the desert boundary and golf course.
Hussain Sajwani has won several awards in recognition of his business achievements including CEO Middle East for a property construction that won Property of the Year. He’s also been listed in one magazine as the 6th most influential person in Dubai. His charity includes starting DAMAC’s humanitarian wing that has supported refugees from war-torn areas through UAE Red Crescent’s campaigns.
